Cardiovascular endurance is an important aspect of fitness. It strengthens your heart and controls the oxygen flow to your lungs and muscles. Cardio workouts energize you, help control weight and aid in healthy living.
Our cardio classes have you traveling around the globe as we dance our way into shape. From the lively music of South America with Zumba Fitness®, to the majestic drum rhythms of the Pacific Islands with Hot Hula® Fitness to the earthy Turkish moves with Belly Funk Fitness™ our classes will have you “Shake, Shimmy and Sweat” as you dance to the beat and lose yourself in the rhythm.
Zumba® Fitness is a spicy, hot, hip swiveling workout where Latin and International music are combined with dance-fitness moves. It is fun fitness! The dance routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba® utilizes the principles of interval training to maximize caloric output and fat burning.
HOT HULA fitness® incorporates easy to perform dance movements set to the sounds of traditional Polynesian drum beats fused with funky Reggae music, resulting in a modern, hip fitness workout. HOT HULA fitness ® isolates your larger muscle groups, increasing strength and definition to your core with specific emphasis on the abs, glutes, quads and arms.
Belly Funk Fitness™ is a belly dance-fitness workout created by Pam Andrews, owner of Shake It! Fitness. It is a fusion of Middle Eastern belly dance moves with R&B, funk and soul music. This low-impact class works your entire core and focuses on muscle isolation of the arms, shoulders, hips, glutes and abs.
Strength training improves the tone and definition of your body. Muscular endurance plays a crucial role in how well our bodies meet a variety of demands and resists injury. Our classes use many repetitions with low resistance to sculpt the entire body.
Move to Latin and International rhythms as you take your Zumba class to the next level! Blend body-sculpting techniques with the basic moves of Zumba to create a calorie-burning, muscle endurance class. Participants use light hand weights to build muscular endurance. We provide light hand weights (3 lbs) and yoga mats. You may also bring your own 1 to 3 lb hand weights and yoga mat.
Flexibility & Core Strength
Flexibility training allows us to move with greater range of motion and keeps muscles responsive to the demands of daily activities. Core strength training improves posture, mental clarity, balance and stability. Each class is includes time to workout, relax, and breathe.
PiYo™ is a unique blend of pilates and yoga. Each class is designed to build strength and gain flexibility. The moves fit perfectly together to form a class filled with intense choreography that’s fun, challenging and will make you sweat. It’s about energy, power, and rhythm. Think sculpted abdominals, increased overall core strength, and greater stability. Yoga mats are provided at the studio or you may bring your own.
